The Welcome Reception for all participants will be held at the Inn at Laurel Point, the host hotel for transmission: GLOBAL SUMMIT 2012.

The reception will be held in the main atrium of the hotel, with a covered area allowing participants to flow outside and enjoy the Japanese gardens (weather permitting). With expansive views of the inner harbour and a central location just 10 minutes out of downtown, the reception will be the perfect kick off for the first evening in Victoria for many participants, and the conference.

The Atrium- 800 Yates St.

The Gala and Dinner in the Dark on Thursday, February 9^th, will take place at Victoria’s stunning Atrium Building. The Atrium, with its impressive central arrival hall, is situated in the heart of the downtown Victoria business and entertainment district. Designed by award-winning architect D’Ambrosio Architecture and Urbanism, and designed for energy efficiency and environmentally-conscious operation, the building has targeted LEED Gold Certification through the Canada Green Building Council.

The Atrium is simply stunning, a jewel of downtown Victoria that all Victorians are proud to show off. The building has established itself as a hip, environmentally friendly, locally focused business centre, with style. This is the first time a dinner has been hosted in the Atrium, with no lights, no less, and it’s also the first time an art installation of this size has ever graced its interiors. We’ve lined up one of the most amazing chefs on the island to blow you away with our local offerings, and we’re very excited to share this evening with our transmission participants and the public.

Thursday night Lucky Bar will be hosting the Red Bull Scratch Series and on Friday, the official transmission wrap-up party.

Lucky Bar is a club, downtown, in Victoria, what more can we say? It’s packed every night, plays a wide variety of shows from a diverse range of genres, from electronic, to rock, to jazz, to folk. It’s the place you can always rely on to be playing the latest in music, as long as it’s not Top 40’s. It’s where you can find all of the trendsetters in town and it’s always a good time. Late night, every night, at transmission: GLOBAL SUMMIT will take place at The Mint, Victoria’s coolest underground eatery, lounge and bar. The Mint dining lounge incorporates a contemporary West Coast / South Asian menu and atmosphere, an drink list and a lively environment to dine and unwind from dinner to late night. With a warm, inviting atmosphere and permanent DJ booth, The Mint is a late night gathering point for many Victorians and is always going until 2am.
