Interested in volunteering for a free ticket to some of the great showcasing part of transmitLIVE? Or maybe you want spend the day listening to some of the creative industries’ top executives speak about key issues in digital media? If you are interested in volunteering some of your time for transmission: GLOBAL SUMMIT 2012 (including transmitTALKS conference and transmitLIVE showcase) we are interested in hearing from you!
We require volunteers to work at least 2 shifts to receive volunteer benefits and accreditation. Please review job descriptions and click on link to application above or below descriptions.

Volunteer Job Descriptions
OFFICE ASSISTANTS
Duties & Responsibilities
- Help assist with general administrative work before and during the event (Starting the week prior, Monday Jan 30th)
- Help assemble participant packages packs prior to the event • Assist the different departments with any help needed in lead up to the event
REGISTRATION & PARTICIPANT SERVICES ASSISTANTS
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist in set up of conference room and hospitality areas/registration desk
- Help assist at the registration desk/information desk at the Inn at Laurel Point
- Assist Participant Services Manager and any other TNT staff at the desk and throughout the venue.
- Assist VIP’s, delegates, artists and guests to ensure they are comfortable
- Provide information regarding the transmission event and Victoria to participants, and answer any questions they may have.
- Keep the areas functioning, organized and tidy.
SETUP CREW
Duties & Responsibilities
- Help setup stage and backdrop (prior to event)
- Help install minimal site infrastructure
- Work with suppliers to setup transmitLIVE lighting and video equipment
- Help dismantle stage and backdrop post conference
Qualifications & Requirements
- Events experience an asset. Heavy lifting will be required.
TECH CREW
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist Stage Manager with moving stage items on and off during conference
- Assist Technical Manager with A/V support for delegates
Qualifications & Requirements
- Events experience and A/V experience an asset. Heavy lifting will be required.
transmitLIVE SHOW CREW
Duties & Responsibilities
- Help bands and backline load in
- Assist A/V supplier with setup of microphones & monitors, help setup backline
- Under coordination of stage manager, help during stage turnovers
- Work with Stage Manager to insure all headline bands needs are met
- Help dismantle items after event
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience, knowledge of backline and minimal audio EXTREMELY HELPFUL. Heavy lifting will be required.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Help merchandise coordinator with inventory management
- Cash handling skills
- Help strike and clean site at end of night
Qualifications & Requirements
- Customer service experience and cash handling experience is an asset
DRIVERS
Duties & Responsibilities
- Pickup artists and delegates at Vancouver Island Airport/Swartz Bay Ferry Terminal
- Hotel to Venue transportation within the city
- Transport production gear from venue to venue
Qualifications & Requirements
- 25+ with clean driving record, good knowledge of Victoria and travel routes
- Experience driving production vehicles:14 Passenger Vans
*must have valid Class 4 license *
