visa information

The People's Republic of China requires most foreign nationals to have a travel visa in order to visit China.  Please contact your respective Chinese Embassy or Chinese Consulate General for visa requirements (if applicable).  A full list of Chinese Embassies from around the world may be found here: http://www.fmprc.gov.cn/eng/wjb/zwjg/2490/

transmitCHINA participants who require visas to enter China are only required to apply for a TOURIST VISA (L-VISA).

For Canadian Residents / Citizens:

All transmitCHINA Canadian participants are required to apply for a TOURIST VISA (L-VISA) to enter China.  Please consult the Embassy Website for Visa Requirements, Visa Application Instructions and the appropriate Visa Offices that you may apply at based on your provincial jurisdiction:http://ca.china-embassy.org/eng/lsfw/

Canadian citizens with a valid passport DO NOT need a visa or entry permit to enter HONG KONG (for stays up to 90 days) or TAIPEI (for stays up to 30 days). 


For U.K. Residents / Citizens:

All transmitCHINA U.K. National participants are required to apply for a TOURIST VISA (L-VISA) to enter China.  Please consult the Embassy Website for Visa Requirements and Visa Application Instructions: http://www.visaforchina.org.uk/
